Help!

My son was sick on his bedroom carpet on Saturday night. I got straight to it with the cleaning, scraping up the chunks (sorry) and scrubbing with warm soapy water. However my husband came in with the Henry Hoover (not designed for liquid!) and started hoovering up be sick!!!! The next day the Hoover bag and filter were soaked through so I washed the filter until very clean (and smelling good) and changed the bag. I also cleaned inside tr main red part that the bag goes in.

I've just hoovered the house and I can sme sick - it's coming from Henry! He's blowing out a vile stale sick smell!

Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of the smell inside the Hoover? There's only so much Febreeze I can use!'

Help?!

Go to poundland and buy some vacuum block type things. They are orange and smell nice. Vac a couple up into the hoover. Then hoover as normal. No smell.

Grrrrrrrrr it makes me so angry! We've never had a "good" Hoover - we only got Henry and I was super excited, hoovering everyday like SuperMum (sad I know!)

Please tell me Henry wasn't your christmas present!

Just unbelievable he thinks it's your problem and is refusing to "buy you" a new hoover.

AmateurSeamstress · 11/04/2015 20:31

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer for advice, since it's so new? You have nothing to lose.

MissMia84 · 12/04/2015 19:36

Haha he wasn't my Christmas present, my husbands not that bad :)

What do you mean he won't buy you a new Hoover?! Confused. Who made him God of household purchases?

Just buy a new one. If you are in anyway short of money, stop feeding him

I must say, it is for this exact reason I have a vax carpet washer - they are amazing and saved our cream wool carpet when DD barfed blueberries on them along with the best part of a bottle of milk a few weeks ago

The way Henry's are built, the vomit should not have been able to get into the motor, so it shouldn't be that that smells. I agree with a pp that it is most likely to be the hose that the small is coming from as there are all those ridges that stuff can get stuck in. On ebay you can buy a replacement set of the metal tubes and hose for henry for £20.

I ahve not had the problem of a vomit smelling henry, but sometimes ours smells because the bag is so big it takes ages to fill up so sometimes gets a bit stinky. I get some special little bag things from Savers, they are like air freshners for hoovers (I think they are by Glade) you just hoover one up and then everytime you use the hoover the scent comes out.

try e-spares on the internet for a new hose- they are cheap and quick, I done this after DP hoovered up wet cat food that the cat had kicked out her bowl, it stank and no mater how many times I stripped down the henry I couldnt get rid of the smell, but a new hose sorted it!!
