A big cracking noise was heard and my DS bed has just snapped in half! That woke him up! Thank god its no longer a bunk bed, which got divided into two beds a year ago Shock

So seeing as that's the second time it's happened (first time he was jumping on the bed which was then replaced) I'm thinking wooden beds are not the best long term option.

My Mum still has my divan bed from when I was little, 30+ years on! This is my goal!

Can anyone recommend single beds to me please? Divan? Cabin? Metal? Space isn't an issue. He does have a spare mattress underneath, which I can throw out its just quite useful to have.

Please help, I have no idea where to begin and frankly my dears, it's quite urgent! Eek!

Is he likely to be tall?

You can get 6'3" single beds now.

Hmm. His dad is 5'6, his grandad is 5'0. And so far he's the shortest boy in the class. But he may surprise us and shoot up when he's 15!

Cabin beds are great space savers. High sleepers are too hard to change the sheets. I always buy mine 2nd hand on Ebay so can't comment on brands, I just make sure it's standard size.
