some people find it a step up from being bedridden with depression and feel the little things like that are major steps. And its nice to be congratulated, sad as it may be.

mirenanomore · 21/10/2006 17:24

I think it is a continuation of our star chart obsessed parenting

we want constant rewards and congratulations for what we have achieved, rather than feeling inner satisfaction and just getting on with things.

And I am not having a go at anyone - I am just the same. I had this card when I joined the gym - every time you attended you got a stamp and when you filled it up you got a voucher. When I had finished it I definitely felt less motivated to go as frequently. Sad isn't it?

Anyway, meanwhile, if it works for you, good luck.

TheDaVinciCod · 21/10/2006 17:28

i get those at the beauticains

FrannyandZooey · 21/10/2006 17:45

Do you? What do you get at the end? A free fanjo wax? Mmm, that would really motivate me....

TheDaVinciCod · 21/10/2006 17:47

Cappuccino · 21/10/2006 17:50

I think tbh quite a few people on there have low self esteem and have got themselves quite down

they're not quite as uppity and lordly as you

Trinityrhino · 21/10/2006 17:51

yeah thanks cod, now I feel more crap than I did before

FrannyandZooey · 21/10/2006 17:51

I think if it truly works to get you motivated then it can't be a bad thing

I think the method of breaking a job down into small tasks is psychologically effective

TheDaVinciCod · 21/10/2006 17:54

yes ic an see for huge jobs its good
liek clenaing windows ect
just making a bed
am stunned that SO many poeple felel unable to do that yet still cna function/ post/ raise kdis

I NEVER make beds .. don't see the point

TwigTwoolett · 21/10/2006 18:02

I have a great system for keeping the house clean though

its called inviting people round for coffee until they just tend to pop in on spec automatically if passing

I hate people coming in if house is untidy so its always fairly tidy and I get loads of company too

QuootieSpookypie · 21/10/2006 18:02

no.... just like being congratulated. I do believe you are jealous?

disemboweledbint · 21/10/2006 18:02

could someone be so kind as to tell me what is this FLYING? is it all this cleaning business, one thing day?

QuootieSpookypie · 21/10/2006 18:03

Cod, didnt make my bed, but did you see my application re: multiples?

TheDaVinciCod · 21/10/2006 18:10

i make the beds after breakfast
yes ther eis a point
gievs a semablance of order

OP posts:
TwigTwoolett · 21/10/2006 18:12

making beds gives a semblance of order??

what?

they're upstairs

I spend most of my time in the house downstairs .. would prefer a tidy downstairs to a made bed .. which after all is just a duvet

LoveMyGirls · 21/10/2006 18:39

i always make my bed first thing in the morning as it makes the room look instantly tidier and makes me feel better about dragging myself out it and stops me just climbing back in!!!
