Really stupid qu, but bought some laundry liquid where you measure the amount in the lid. Is it me or do you just end up with a bottle covered in liquid when you replace the lid? Or are you supposed to rinse it out each time? Seems like a right faff!

The lid usually goes in the machine.....

I keep a few of the dispenser ball things and try to read the graduations on the side .
I don't decant into the lid at all (for the very reason you say)

I used to wait until the water was running into the machine, and tip the liquid into the water in the pull out drawer.

Now I use a little ball thingy, put the liquid in that and chuck in in the machine.

I put the lid in the machine. I use surf and it comes with 2 lids - one that actually screws the bottle shut and one that clips on top of that which you pour the liquid into then put in the straight into the drum with your washing .........

Thanks everyone! Tried putting in the machine and it was fine- looked too flimsy, but came out fine! Feel a bit silly!
