Just that really and have tried usual stuff - goo gone, Beckmanns, Vanish carpet stain remover. Any ideas? It's not so much a 'stain' as a crust which has become solidly stuck on the carpet. Any ideas out there?

I know to get candle wax up you put grease proof paper or news paper on it and iron it - if it was me I'd try this however I don't know if actually will work on cough syrup x

Might be worthwhile phoning (or emailing) manufacturer?

DON'T IRON IT!!!

It's probably sugary. The first thing I would try, and a fairly low-risk approach, is warm water, and plenty of it. You don't want to just tip water on it, but have a bucket of warm water and a cloth. Dip the cloth, squeeze it out but don't wring it - it wants to be almost dripping-wet. Press it onto the mark for few minutes. Rinse-and-repeat. You're aiming to dissolve the sugar.
