building a house

After living in many cramped places for many years, we are actually building our own home. With 5 kids I am really looking forward to a bit more space. The kids range from 15 years old to 9 months old. We are now making decisions about interior things. Any advice on 'must haves' while there is still time? I don't want to think of good ideas when it is too late to include them!

As we have some TVs on stands up on the wall, some plug/aerial sockets high up on the wall so you don't have wires anywhere. Loads of sockets everywhere anyway, they are fab and when we rewired I thought DH was putting too many in, I no longer think that.

We have a room over our double garage and just have little wall mount electric heaters that we turn on when we need to. Don't need to heat it that often as it is well insulated and heats up really fast with bodies in there. The heaters can work on a timer and have a frost thermostat. Keep the table football in there and as the boys get older I imagine they will be banished there with friends a lot more!
