I bought a few bottles of dt Bateman stain devil things, each for a group of stains.
I still have them now, well worth the investment.
Or as others suggested wd 40 also good on skirting board for shoe scuffs.

Bar keepers friend? Small amount on clean damp cloth.
Have been a fan of this since it removed DD's red nail varnish from white corian work surface.

Get a piece of baking paper and heat your iron to a medium heat, then lightly (do not put pressure on the wall too much or you will blow the plaster) iron over the paper on the area with the crayon. It will melt the wax in the crayon, leaving a residue that can just be wiped off with a wet wipe....

Flash magic eraser - it's amazing! Couple of quid in Robert Dyas. It says to wet it but I did it dry and it left the wall spotless.

Mayonnaise followed by bleach kitchen spray

If just a normal emulsion painted, plastered wall, heat the crayon with a hair dryer then wipe gently with a soapy cloth. Worked for me!
