Hair dye accident - how to remove stains from towels

Teen DD has put massive brown stains all over several white towels when dyeing her hair with clairol brown hair dye. ( non pemament)
Bleach has helped a bit but left pale brown stains. Any ideas ?

Honestly, I would dye them another colour of keep them as "hair dying towels" as I doubt you will get it off.

No way your getting those towels back to white :/ better off keeping them as towels just for doing her hair!

They'll fade as time goes on and get washed but they'll never go back to the way they were. I agree with the options already mentioned.

We have special hair dye towels in this house too. I sympathise with you on her classic teenage choice of 'several white towels' to use while dyeing her hair brown.

That's unanimous then ! Thanks. I'm one of those rare women who has never dyed her hair- unless you count a bit of Sun In when I was 14.

I've never had an issue removing hair dye from towels - a hot cottons wash has always worked. You could try soaking the towels in a solution of bleach overnight (not quite sure how you have treated them with the bleach so far) then a hot cottons wash. Line drying outside can help as sunlight has a natural bleaching effect. Probably not much use at this time of year though!

Good advice from wowfudge - try soaking and then a hot wash with some Glowhite (or other brand). I've never had a problem getting rid of brown dye, but I haven't used that brand - perhaps it has more staying power!

Try soaking them in Napisan or Milton?

Takes all sorts of disgusting stains out.......
