Bath taking forever to drain

Just this, really. I think it may be partly down to at least one bath bomb a week being used! Any recommendations of a cleaning product that I can use please?

If it could be hair clogging it up, get some cheap hair remover cream (poundland?) and squeeze some down the plug hole and leave for a while for it to dissolve the hair.

Lakeland do this amazing little gadget www.lakeland.co.uk/23726/The-Drain-Weasel-3-Pack-refill which looks like a piece of plastic tat but is indispensible in a house like ours with a lot of long-haired dds! I leave it to dh but whenever the shower runs slow he uses this and invariably pulls out a revolting bundle of hair that looks like a decayed cuddly toy! Much better than drain cleaners - in the past we've had leaking drain-aways that had perished probably from too much caustic.

It's not hair. I am the only girl in the house send my hair is short ish and I usually wash it in the shower.

I've just seen a life hack thingy where they cleared a drain by putting baking soda, vinegar & hot water. It was pretty cool to watch as well as amazingly clean after!

Start by buying a sink plunger or pump, and a few bags of washing soda crystals.

No, it hasn't always been like this. Nobody uses oil in the bath. I can only think that it is down to the Lush bath bombs, as we use at least one a week. that has been the only change that i can think of.

Please forgive my ignorance PigletJohn. In what order do I use the soda crystals and plunger and how much of the soda crystals at a time?

washing soda crystals help wash away deposits of soap and grease.

If you appear to have a sludgy waste pipe problem, pack the plughole/waste trap and overflow with crystals one night, add just enough hot water to moisten them (not enough to wash them away down the drain).

The next morning add a couple of cups of hot water, this will dissolve most of the remaining crystals and they will flow along to the next restriction in the pipe. Give them as long as you can to work, then agitate with your sink plunger or pump, and wash away with plenty of hot water.

Do this once a week or so.

Once the waste is reasonably clean, you can put a cup of crystals and a cup of hot water down the plug hole about once a week, and it will tend to keep the trap and waste pipe clean.

Washing Soda crystals are not the same as Caustic Soda, which is quite a dangerous chemical and will eat holes in your skin and eyeballs.

Taking off the U-bend or bottle trap, and scraping it out with a teaspoon, is useful and instructive.
