Relocating in London: renting

Hi, I don't know if this is the best place to post this as I am new to Mumsnet, is there a specialist thread for this I wonder?

I've lived in Muswell Hill for about 4 years, after living in West Hampstead for a year - I found 1 beds to be a bit more spacious in Muswell Hill in comparison. I have now moved back in with family whilst looking for a new place to rent, but feel completely lost. Can anyone recommend any safe areas to rent in London? I don't have a car and would like somewhere with good transport links to London central

PS the reason for the relocation is the problem with damp I had in my building, we also had cannabis smokers move into the building and the agency wouldn't do anything about it.
