Dishwasher - Which one?

Hi all.
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a dishwasher with a separate draw for cutlery. If you have one are they really as good as they seem?
Are there any advantages or disadvantages to having a freestanding or integrated? Sorry for all the questions just don't want to make a mistake.

Miele. Strongly recommend, particularly if the cutlery drawer you are unloading to is right next to the dishwasher.

Some people think integrated look better.

Integrated are more ££ and trickier to replace/repair.p, and choice is more limited.

my bosch logixx also has a cutlery drawer. It is a free standing one and is very quiet and effective.

we got ours from ao.com/

We have a siemens - as above really, it's quiet, freestanding, lots of flexibility with programming. I love the cutlery tray!

I have a dead basic (dead cheap Grin) Bosch with the standard cutlery basket. I put forks in handles down, knives & spoons handles up, & it works fine.

I just take the basket to the counter next to the cutlery drawer to empty it.

Freestanding are better quality for the same money; or lower price for the same quality.

They are also very much easier and less annoying to install, remove or pull out for repair.

I have always been very happy with Bosch, currently have a Siemens which is fine and perhaps a bit more upmarket, but designed and made by the same company and very reliable. Sometimes JL have special offers or free extended warranties on them. I think they all, or mostly have cutlery trays now, but you can buy a basket as an accessory if you want. The upper shelf will usually move up and down to accommodate big stuff underneath, or can be pulled out for huge roasters.

Mine is Bosch and it has been fine for 7 years now as has my Bosch washer dryer. My hotpoint fridge freezer didn't last that long so has been replaced by you guessed it, a Bosch fridge freezer. Even my kettle has recently been replaced by a Bosch one. I have bought all of them in the sales from John Lewis, currys and argos.

Miele.

Has the cutlery tray. Cant recommend them highly enough.

Just got a Bosch integrated with cutlery draw. So far I'm loving it, though after 3 years without a d/washer anything would probably doGrin

dementedpixie · 19/01/2015 17:00

drawer, please don't call it a draw Smile

Ours is a Miele freestanding slimline and I rate the cutlery tray.

It replaced an ancient Bosch dishwasher that ran for I believe about 20 years!

ggirl · 20/01/2015 08:23

I have kuppersbusch one, still going strong after nearly 11yrs

fussychica · 20/01/2015 10:29

I just draw in the cutlery, it's not realGrin
