Toilet blocks all the time

Good morning everyone,

Our en-suite toilet blocks all the time, it used to happen occasionally but we are having to unblock it (we have a trusty 'poo stick'!) almost daily at the moment. The stick clears it but there's obviously something down there. We had a plumber round for something else a while ago and I asked him about the toilet he said the only thing he could do would be to take the toilet away and look at the pipe but because the screws looked a but rusted he was worried it would crack the toilet when he tried to unscrew them so he didn't do.

I've read on here that I could put Jeye's fluid down, do I just buy a litre and chuck it down?

Any advice would be much appreciated

A new WC pan is not at all expensive, and easy to match if white, so let him take it up. Buy a selection of stainless steel screws and washers (small packs are cheap on ebay)

Your pan will probably be close-coupled (cistern sits on back of pan) or low-level (plastic pipe is visible between cistern and pan.

If you do buy a new WC, you can probably re-use your old cistern, but if you get a new one, get a modern quiet filling valve, and I strongly recommend a Flapper flush valve which is quiet and powerful. Your plumber will know what they are although he might be too old traditional to like them.

Please avoid cisterns with the little buttons on the lid.

A recognised UK brand might be better than an unknown import.

Thanks for your reply, we are selling the house do I'm trying to avoid spending anything on it. I have done a bit of googling and have bought something called 'toilet ninja' which is some sort of liquid to put down. I'll try that first and look at a new bowl if it doesn't work.
