Well that's it, how do I get rid of the smell - it's a wool rug.
I've scraped it off (it was quite dry) and wiped with baby wipes but it pongs.

Pets at Home sells a neutraliser which I have found effective. It is in a turquoise plastic spray bottle.

Some people recommend bio washing powder but I did not find that effective.

Thank you - I'll head down there today. Bio might remove the dye from the rug.

We've had this today, delightful Hmm.

We have a vax carpet cleaner and thats done the trick. Could you hire one if you don't have one.

Our rescue cat had done this, more times than l care to remember. I found washing powder, rinsed obviously...dried. I then added masses of bicarbonate of soda to the patch. I also like vanish power powder. Leaves a very fresh smell.

Oh, and it was also a wool rug. :)
