New house, no dryer,(no room for one either) do I have any chance of soft towels without one or am I resigned to sandpaper like towels for ever.

Buy the best quality towels you can and use fabric softener (or Bold)

Thanks MamaGhoul, when you say Bold do you mean the washing powder that comes with Bold softner or is it a seperate thing? Sorry to sound thick this is all new to me.

yes the 2 in 1

i got egyptian cotton towels from BHS in the Jan sales last year and they are still like new, lovely and soft

Got them half price - would have cost over £80 otherwise so might be worth waiting for the sales?

My dm always says how soft my towels are, but I do have a dryer and think that is why, and I also use lots lots lots of softener.

Yes, I think it will have to be the sales at the moment! So do you just hang them up afterwards outside on the line and you reckon they will be just as good (mental note to stop on the way home for some 2 in 1)
