Our cleaner usually comes on a Monday but isn't tomorrow which means I have so much more to do than normal!

Got to do following:
Sort out and declutter toy cupboard to fit more toys in post Christmas
Put washing away
Tidy all bedrooms and make beds (fresh sheets on guest beds)
Do washing.
Sort out both reception rooms
Clean bathrooms
Hoover everywhere

Still got presents to wrap as well.

Mrsgrumble · 21/12/2014 10:06

pension you sound like a great hostess!

I haven't too much to do as no overnight guests i have a baby and used the last couple of weeks maternity leave to clean house, got a painter in snd skirtings redone etc

Clean bathrooms
Brillo the oven and trays
I have been decluttering for a while and made scrapbooks so need to store them in a shelf in wardrobe- I decluttered a lot this year and am delighted
Make dinner (super easy chicken and rice)
Iron some clothes and sort my wardrobe out

Mrsgrumble · 21/12/2014 10:07

Fuck me, I thought I was alone as a cleaning nitwit.

To be fair, DH does all food shopping and cooking. My job is laundry, deckers and cleaning.

Unfortunately we have the display shelves from hell in the back room.Think well-appointed vintage shop. It took years IMHO, though to be fair I haven't cleaned them for at least six months. I had to get up a ladder to wet dust the ceiling fans as DH was set off the moment they were.

It all looks tip-top, with only a damp mop of the wood floors on Christmas Eve, then I'm I'm good for…oh at least Easter. :o

afreshstartplease · 23/12/2014 08:36

It's never ending

Nothing is remotely clean or tidy

Dh has just suggested boarding out the loft so he can put back the xmas dec boxes that came out of there a week ago. We have downstairs to clean and a cake to ice before his mother arrives at 2:30.

Plus a 5yo.

Dear god i can hear a saw. Oh no i can't. He's sanding the island unit. So he can oil it. Still. It means he must have cleared it...

Trapper · 23/12/2014 09:44

List:
Finish painting the lounge and dining room
Decorate tree
Shampoo carpet
Clear toy room (return everything to the lounge and dining room)
3 loads of washing (estimate)
Clean BBQ (need the cooking space)
Defrost fridge/freezer (door was left open so both full of ice)
Wrap presents
Bathroom and downstairs toilet.
Most importantly: Don't forget to put the bins out tonight as I need the wheelie bin space!

afreshstartplease · 23/12/2014 16:04

Well my kitchen is begining to resemble a kitchen again

Just need to get the kids fed and then I'll mop the floor

All washing is away

Apart from that it's still a mess!

Glad its just us for xmas. Cleaned for hours last week, its now a sty again and I have ear infection.

Trapper · 24/12/2014 11:44

Update: not done toy room yet and the fridge is just going to have to stay frozen until after Xmas now Smile
Sprouts parboiled and chilled, Turkey brining, red cabbage bubbling away nicely.
Lions share of the credit goes to DW who did most of the painting Smile
