smelly washing machine

i know ive seen something about this before but cant be bothered to trawl looking for it !
any ideas on how to "clean" my washing machine?
its smells a bit damp and musty and wondered if any way of making it smell nice!

bio powder in an empty machine on a 90 degree wash - i sometimes put a dot of bleach in ,but can rot the pipes so don;t do it very often!

Soda crystals - half a small pack in the drum, then put the machine through a boil wash.

Or you can use white vinegar - half a cup in the machine, then put it through a boil wash.
