Can I just say how wonderful my new cleaning regime is?

I now have a weekly planned of jobs to do - some evry day, others on specific days.
It arose out of my (much mocked by colleagues) towels day, by which I wash towels on a certain day.
I started thinking, hmm, I should hoover upstairs twice a week, but how do I know when I last did it? Hence the cleaning regime (also inspired by a thread on MN) and wow! my house is cleaner than ever before! It's wonderful (still not tidy tho....or decorated....)

I am establishing a routine too and find it a lot easier knowing what I have to do and what is done each week, I strated with the flylady thing.

PinkTulips · 10/10/2006 14:45

Pink tulips come join us Flybabies . Full of reluctant cleaners.

QueenEvil · 10/10/2006 14:47

Clary - give us an example of what you do on what days.

PinkTulips · 10/10/2006 14:58

i glanced at the thread but wasn't sure if you all subscribed to flylady and thought maybe i'd be lost if i didn't

Skribble · 10/10/2006 22:05

No we don't all subscribe, I do but will soon stop the e.mails I think, they are a bit much.

You can just go on the site and click on Babysteps, follow thenm and you will soon see how it all works.

Someone will post Kelly's mission and hotspot alert. We then do our other daily stuff, Just jump in, don't try to catch up or do what we are all doing at first take it slow.

I now have a
Morning routine,
a bedtime routine,
specific stuff to do on each day,
and each week we are in a different zone getting in deep and doing decluttering. Kelly's missions tie in with the weeks zone.

No its not - Friday is bedding - Wednesday and Sundays are towels. But DH says this is excessive - so Sunday was all the swimming towels (7) and Wednesday was house towels.

I like the night time routine that I now have in place. (thanks to FLYlady and MN) Getting bits ready for the next morning has gave me more time in the mornings before the school run. And I also feel so much better in the morning as I dont have so much to do. ME does not let you want to move to quick or want to do to much in the mornings.

Clary · 10/10/2006 23:54

QE OK, so wash-wise: Monday is towels (cod I thought of it first, me! me!); weds is our bedlinen (more or less a load on its own); Friday is kids' bedlinen (a couple of loads, one white, one colours with other kids bits). Other laundry as needed.
Hoover downstairs every day.
Thorough hoover and dust and picture rails etc: Tuesday.
Hoover upstairs - thoroughly Wednesday, roughly Sunday.
Clean bathroom Friday and Monday.

Fitted other jobs in around this framework (eg clean cooker top, clean kitchen bin, clean fridge, empty all bins in house etc.
Tidy toys and wash pots every day.

ooooooo, i'm loving that regime clary. it actually sounds do-able........ right, thats it, get off your bum pink and clean!

Clary · 11/10/2006 00:37

Well this is it pink, you see a lot of it I did anyway (the laundry and bedlinen changing) so it's just a question of formatting it so I know I hoovered the stairs yesterday or whatever.

I have to say the house really is a lot cleaner. I'm up later tho (as you see )
