Can anyone recommend an iron?

I know I know. Boring.

When I started uni 12 years ago, my mum gave me her old retired iron and it has only just given up on me!

So, having never bought an iron before in my life, can anyone recommend one? Or what to look for in one? I image the technology might have moved on somewhat... :)

I don't want to spend a fortune but would obviously be very happy if it did as well as my last one!

I love my Tefal Steam iron. Makes the chore of ironing super quick and easy!

Always had Tefal or Philips, I currently have a Tefal one and its super quick to get to temperature and it has a good weight to it

A steam generator iron is the best

Thanks.

Are the steam irons the ones that sit on those funny stands?

Yeah but you will never go back to a normal iron again after buying one of these!

Tefal here too...purple one. Its the best iron I've ever had. It has a skinny tip which is better for small baby things
