Getting vomit smell out of carpet.

DD brought up her entire dinner on her carpet last night. I washed it then and again this morning and it looks clean but the room is still whiffy. I have had windows open and nice smelly candles burning but the minute that fades, all I smell is spew. Any suggestions appreciated, thank you.

Cover where the sick was with baking soda, work it in a bit, leave for a while and the sweep up.

Oh, I would never have thought of that. Thanks!

This happened to us the other night, poor ds2.

DH scooped up all the puke, went over it with the steam mop and then we put bicarb of soda on it overnight.

No smell.

I have used this in the past with good results.

Vinegar and water. This definitely does work I can assure you.

We had this. The smell last just over a week. We used shake & vac & carpet cleaner a couple of times alternately.

How diluted do you make the vinegar and water? Not sure I have enough baking powder so could try that till I get to shops.

Vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and soda crystals clean everything.

abigboydidit · 06/12/2014 21:34

Thanks so much.
