Why would my hood stop working?

Hood works by pulling it out. Both the light and the vent have working. Is not a tripped fuse. This is sudden as opposed to a slow decline. And a new light bulb doesn't sorry the light problem. What else could it be?

Have you checked the switch? Plug might have just come out.

Sounds like there is a switch that is operated by moving the front panel. This switch might have worn out. Less likely there could be a poor connection or wire fallen out.

It is probably somewhere in the switch/speed control/light switch assembly.

However, you can check the supply to it. It might come from the kitchen lighting circuit, down from the ceiling, or it might be a spur from the kitchen socket circuit, in which case the will be a fused connector or a plug, probably hidden away behind the hood or adjacent high cabinet, and the fuse might have blown.

We had this when we moved into a new house. It was the fuse in the plug, which was plugged into a socket above the wall cabinets. New fuse and everything worked again.
