any tips for cleaning gunk from sticking plaster from soft toy

DD has stuck sticking plasters all over her favourite soft toy and when I pulled them off they left black sticky gunk all over the fur. Does anyone know what will take it off without ruining her 'friend'?

Try dabbing with nail varnish remover, then put it through the washing machine.

Thanks anniediv - will try while she's at school - I'm scared of it getting too smelly tbh!
