Vacuum for stairs and quick clean

We have a lot of stairs and the kids often make a mess near the sofas. I am looking to buy one of those cordless rechargeable stick vacuums to make life easier.

Can anyone recommend one eg Dyson Animal?, G Tech? Etc.

I have a Dyson animal. It's quite good for the stairs and having a quick whizz round. Nothing like as powerful as the big hoover though, obvs...

We've got the Dyson DC 59 and don't use a corded one any more, it's brilliant.
