Killed my favourite cardi - can you save it?

Machine washed my favourite wool cardigan and, despite attempts to stretch it out, would now fit a 10-year-old. Is there anything that can be done, or should I put it out of its misery?

Funnily enough, brainstormed on this with Mum yesterday - she accidentally put a wool jumper in the machine, and it came out a lot smaller. The only answer we reached is, unfortunately, that the damage is irreparable.

I did this with a favourite wool zip up cardy -had to bin it as it would have fitted DD but the zip remained the original size obviously (very odd looking!)

I did this once - gave the jumper to my 6yr old nephew.
