Storing old paperwork in loft

I am about to archive some old paperwork to the loft, but how should I store them?

In their files and then in a plastic storage bag?

Plastic storage crate, with the lid sealed with wide tape.

Put identification labels on the inside so that you can read them through the translucent ends and sides and they will not got torn or damaged.

Sort, weed and file the papers in folders before you put them away.
