Can I vax a scotch guarded sofa?

Oh wise mumsnetters

My cream fabric sofa was not such a a great idea afterall and it's looking really grubby with a few water type marks where I've got a few toddler residue bits out with baby wipes.

If I vax it, all of it, will it be ok? Or am I doomed to have a grubby grotty sofa forever?

Hi - can you find any cleaning info anywhere on the sofa? It'll be under the seat cushions or sewn into an inside seam on a cushion cover. It will probably be okay (do a test patch on a bit you can't see in normal use), but may need to retreated with Scotchguard.
