Hello
Please help! Does anyone else get this? I clean it once every couple of months. I use liquid in the machine and fabric softener in the drawer. How can it get so gross?Envy Envy Any solutions to prevent it or aid the cleaning please?!
I use a toothbrush at the mo!

If you pull the drawer out as far as it goes then lift it, it will come out totally and you'll be able to wash it in the sink.

I always leave the dispenser drawer and machine door slightly open to prevent mould, just enough to get some air circulating - if you already doing this and are still having problems, a quick wipe down of all the internal parts with white vinegar, either after each use or once a week, should help.

yeh, take it out and scrub it then do a super hot wash every now and again - with nothing in the washer!

You can buy cleaning products to wash through the machine too.

I'd do that regularly if I didn't have so much damn washing waiting to be done. Grin

We have mould growing in the aperture where the powder drawer goes (slatterns). What's the best thing to use when you scrub the whole damned thing down? Also something we can use to flush the system through to stop it making our clothes smell frowsty.

I take the drawer out and put it through a hit wash in the dishwasher Blush

hot wash

Gunpowder · 25/10/2014 14:08

Claimed that's a brilliant idea!

Take the draw out and give it a good scrub, I put mine in the top basket of the dishwasher. Scrub out the recess that the draw cam out of, you may need to use a cocktail stick to poke the black stuff out of the water jets.

You can buy washing machine cleaner form any supermarket (Lidl & Aldi) cheapest or buy some washing soda and add a cup full. Then when you put the draw back do an empty hot wash. This will also help with any fusty smells.

Word of warning washing soda is very caustic so keep it well away from children and pets.

Thanks Penfold. Love your username BTW.

Thank you all so much! Drawer currently in the dishwasher and I used soda crystals (all I could lay my hands on!) to clean the drawer recess. Will be doing a hot wash with soda crystals when the drawer is clean. And I will annoy dh immensely by leaving the wash machine door and drawer open when not being used (which isn't very often!).

Thank you!Grin Grin
