making wool softer?

mum knitted me a lovely scarf but it's a bit rough and scratchy Confused
any way of softening it up a bit oh wise ones?

You could try soaking it in fabric conditioner (or hair conditioner) or line the inside with silk.

Was coming to say hair conditioner(rinse out afterwards!); also you could try glycerin(e)

its had a fabric conditioner soak, cold wash, now it's drying.

You can wash woolens in shampoo.
