Tall narrow stair gate

We have just moved and the standard stair gates don't fit our stairs, upstairs I will have to sit the gate on the first step down as there is nowhere for it to fix to the wall otherwise, so where can I get a taller but narrow pressure fit stair get ? ( that doesn't cost a small fortune)

I had the same problem and went for the Babydan pet gate from Tesco Direct. It's not pressure fit unfortunately (we also wanted a pressure fitting one but just couldn't find one), so my husband build a basic wooden box around the banister post and drilled into that rather than drill the post itself. We couldn't avoid drilling the wall on the other side, but our landlord okayed it. If you really can't do a drilled stair gate, try searching for other pet gates a they are generally taller. Hopefully you'll have more luck than me!
