Help - Stinky Sports Gloves !

LIZS · 20/10/2014 17:24

Padded gloves like www.debeerlacrosse.com/products/gloves/tempest.php have been stowed away in shoe bag while wet and now smell strongly mouldy although look fine. Have tried squirting with antibac spray, used antibac wipes but to no avail. There are no care instructions and suspect not washable although the fabrics seem a mixture and at £30 a pop am not willing to just chance it . Any ideas from the sport mums fraternity please .

Am not a veteran sports Mum but would suggest Halo sports washing liquid and stick them on a gentle wash in the machine.

thanks where do you get it from ? Am nervous about washing them in case they may lose shape and /or elasticity. They are a combination of fabric and possibly very soft leather or a manmade imitation for the palm. Febreze isn't helping either.

I got the Halo washing liquid from Sainsbury.
It says on bottle effective on a cold wash so you could go for a very gentle cold / silk wash maybe in a pillowcase for extra protection.

If you really don't want to get them wet how about rubbing liberally with bicarb of soda and then hoovering / brushing it off.

I know what you mean about the horrible damp, mouldy smell; I can't bear it and would be risking having to buy a new pair and going for the washing machine option myself!

Good luck

sadly our Sainsbury doesn't have Halo. I've put them outside to air today in the hope it will help .
