Truly disgusting smell after fridge freezer defrosted

So DH accidentally turned off the power to our fridge freezer a couple of months ago when it was full of meat and chicken. We came back a week later and the smell was awful. I threw everything out, washed inside with bleach. The fridge has been fine ever since but there is a horrid smell coming from the back of the unit I cannot shift.

I have tried baking soda, charcoal, more bleach.

It is a frost free freezer so there is no drip tray. The back is just metal, the smell seems to be coming from inside.

The general consensus is that there is nothing to be done except buy a new fridge. Any ideas?

Unplug, and pull it out from the wall. You will find a dish on top of the motor, full of wet mould and fluff. The melt water runs in here. Clean it out.

Preferably also turn off the appliance for several hours. Frost and ice collects in ducts hidden inside the back wall of a frost-free freezer, you cannot practically clean them, but letting any frost melt and run into the dish will wash away some traces from the duct.

Thanks PigletJohn.

Unfortunately the back of my fridge looks like this, completely enclosed. The smell has made it down into the fan at the back, but this has a cover screwed over it with a warning not to remove it. The smell is definitely from inside, especially from the bits above the fan.

I think I should probably get a repair man to open it and clean it out.
