How much could I expect a cleaner to do in 2 hours?

We live in a modern (and therefore relatively compact) 4 bed house. We are not especially tidy as I've been ill with hyperemesis for weeks now. I've tried to keep on top of things but as this weekend's hospital admission has showed, I need some help.

We have a lounge and conservatory, small kitchen, small hallway and downstairs loo. Upstairs there are four bedrooms and the family bathroom. I'm only desperate for the bathrooms and kitchen to be cleaned properly to maintain hygiene. Can I expect a cleaner to do just that or more in 2 hours? It would be great for the hoovering to be done and the windowsills + floor cleaned in the conservatory if possible. I do need someone who is happy to clean a slightly messy house!

My house is pretty big, my cleaner hoovers kitchen, hall, stairs, 3 bedrooms (2 are rarely used), washes kitchen floor, washes kitchen sides, shines all kitchen cupboards, cleans cooker, cleans 2 bathrooms. I try to tidy my stuff before she comes so that things end up in the right place but she will also put toys away if they are out.

In 2 hours my cleaner could clean the bathrooms and kitchen and Hoover the whole house. I would also expect a bit of dusting, but maybe not the whole house.

In 2 hours my cleaner does a whole two bed house: kitchen, bathroom, hoovers and dusts. I tidy before she comes, but she does quite a bit of setting to rights too.

What you are suggesting sounds reasonable to me. But let the cleaner know what you want her/him to prioritise.

Well, she is here and appears to be shining everything with newspaper. Far be it from me to question her methods. I've asked her to deep clean the bathrooms today and nothing more is necessary if that takes two hours. I'm pretty fussy and have explained how so that she can do it really well (as far as I'm concerned) today and then it will be much quicker and easier next time so she can add in the kitchen and hoovering. I'm so happy that I could cry. I know it's pathetic but when you have HG and spend so long in the bathroom it will mean a lot to me for it to be properly clean.

I had HG too and I got a cleaner in for a deep clean, only once due to budget restraints, but my god, it was AMAZING.

Enjoy your clean bathroom Noroom, it won't improve the puking but makes it just a tiny bit more bearable!
