I'm looking for a new duvet. Was thinking of silk filled.
I'd love a silk duvet cover too. Can any Mumsnetter recommend a company please.
I got silk pillowcases from an English based company some years back but now can't remember the name of the company.

Both www.kingofcotton.co.uk and www.soakandsleep.com do silk duvets, and both currently have discounts on offer (if you're quick!). Both sell excellent quality goods, with fantastic customer service. Have a warm and snuggly winter!

Thank you

I have a silk filled duvet and have been craving silk bedding, but I am put off by how difficult it would be to launder it.

I am currently tempted by bamboo which is soft and silky, helps to regulate temperature and far easier to care for.

I have silk pillowcases and wash them at 30 or 40 degrees.
I wish I could remember where I bought them from.

It is drying that bothers me, you cannot peg silk out in direct sunlight nor is tumble drying very advisable.

I like the idea of tumbling bamboo as it would be put on my bed with no ironing.

You have to use non-bio washing powder/liquid too, for silk. I have cotton/bamboo towels, they're brilliant.

OneSkinnyChip · 15/10/2014 11:08

Where do you get the bamboo bedding?

OhMyArsingGodInABox · 15/10/2014 11:15

I've been eyeing up the soak and sleep silk for a while.

But then £300 for a duvet set might be madness. I'm still pondering.

iggymama · 15/10/2014 12:24

Oneskinnychip I have not bought it yet but if you google it is sold on a few uk websites, there is some on Amazon and eBay (watch out for customs fees from USA though)

www.betweenthesheets.co.uk/bamboo-sheets-bed-linen.htm That's fyi, not a recommendation, I haven't used that company.

www.bamboo-textiles.co.uk/products/bedlinen-products.html More fyi. :)
