How to get white deodrant marks out?

I have several black vest tops that look awful now as the white deodrant marks don't come out in the wash. Is it possible to get them out or shall I bin them and buy new? How can I stop it happening again?

Soak in hot water with a a bit of fairy liquid and a cup of white vinegar, I had a top that was totally ruined by white marks. I soaked it overnight then washed normally. Marks were about 98 % gone, and it makes the fabric lovely and soft
