Decluttering & what to do with my bookcases.

So I've been fairly ruthless in my decluttering efforts and I'm left with two bookcases with pretty empty shelves. I'm reluctant to get rid of the actual bookcases so does anyone have suggestions on what to put on them.

Will they look odd with just a few books, photo frames and a couple of ornaments which I've kept.

They are in my living room if that makes a difference.

Bookcases make ideal storage, so I'd keep them. This house has three, apart from those actually holding books, two in my office and one near the wall in bedroom, last house had one in the bathroom, painted same colour as walls, plus one in the (large) hall, keeping boots, hats, gloves etc. in one tidy space with mirror over and coats alongside - I really luffs bookcases!

What about getting some pretty wicker baskets to fill up the space?

Just be careful that the wicker baskets don't get filled with more clutter after you have managed to get rid of all the books Grin

I think a few books, photos and ornaments would be fine - in fact a nice way to display the things you really like without them being overwhelmed by all the other clutter. Don't be tempted to clutter them up again though!
