How many idiots does it take to change a lightbulb??

DH and I moved into our new home one year ago. We never had lightbulb issues before because I was able to change them. In the house we have now, I can't. They are beyond my reach and ability. The problem is DH never ever changes lightbulbs. He just won't get around to it. He does lots of other brilliant things but lightbulb changing isn't one of them.
Is it possible to actually hire a handyman simply to change bulbs? There are quite a few of them.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

buy a step ladder.

LemonDough · 07/10/2014 18:44

I'll do it for £50. Don't you have a ladder?

I'm pretty sure any odd job man would do it but do you really want to throw money away on that?

cheaper than a handy man every time you need to change a bulb.

IAmAPaleontologist · 07/10/2014 18:45

or hand your dh a bulb and say "please change this now"

Are they the pesky halogen ones as thye can be tricky. I find a rubber glove helps with grip.

We have masses of bulbs and there are always some to replace

If there are a lot, change them all for energy saving lamps now. They will last ten times as long, and by the time they need changing again you might have found a new DH.
