Printer ink on carpet

I got some tiny spots of cyan and magenta printer ink on a beige carpet . I used carpet cleaner and the spots spread. I now have three marks, each about the size of a 2p, two blue and one pink. They are lighter than they were, but very obvious against the beige.

Suggestions?

Sorry, not much help here but the only thing I do know is never to use anything hot, the temperature will make the ink bind to the carpet.

Like lily pollen, I suspect the last thing you should do with printer toner is wet it, but it's too late now. Sticky tape to lift off then vacuum using the nozzle held over the ink would be what I'd do.

Try the carpet spot remover again on one of the marks - it might take repeated goes, but be gentle so as not to rub the pile up and damage it. If it works, repeat on the other marks. Or you could look for a stain remover for ink and do a test on one of the spots. Do check it can be used on whatever your carpet is made of, i.e. if it says 'not suitable for use on wool' and you've a wool carpet then don't risk it.

You might find the marks fade with sunlight over time.

Maybe some methylated spirits.
Dab on & use an absorbent cloth or kitchen roll to soak up the colour. Then rub with adamp cloth & carpet cleaner.
