Are turtle mats worth the money?

I'm looking for a new doormat due to my old one's rubber back distingrating due to too much tumbledrying.

I'm looking at this www.turtlemat.co.uk/formal-leaf/ but dithering at spending £50on it unless it's amazing!

How are they after washing? Do they dry fairly quickly?

IME yes, definitely. but I bought in a sale, at least 7 years ago, still as good as new. the black/grey speckled by the front door is especially good.

Explored · 03/10/2014 15:19

YES YES YES. The one by my backdoor must be 15 years old and still comes out of the washing machine looking new, comes out only slightly damp and I put it straight back on the floor to dry. Does exactly what it says re drying shoes/paws etc.

I wouldn't even contemplate buying any other doormat. I've been kind of hoping for that last 10 years that this one will wear out so I can have a different colour, but no sign so far.

Brilliant, thanks! I'd better pick one I can happily live with for that long! Grin

I love mine! And they wash and dry brilliantly. I wish I needed another, they're so pleasing.

evertonmint · 03/10/2014 22:02

They're fab. Had one for 9-10 years. I bought a second cheaper one in dunelm mill and it is very good too so you might not have to spend that much.

TeeBee · 04/10/2014 12:35

Yes, had mine ages. They're the only thing my dog can't rip to shreds.

Lucylambkin · 06/10/2014 16:31

Have 3 end to end under cat flap so no muddy paw prints on cream stone floor. Bought 3 rather than one long one for ease of washing. Do 20 min cycle and they are great.

paddlenorapaddle · 06/10/2014 16:45

Achica regularly has them on offer

Hollycopter · 06/10/2014 19:59

Ooh, thanks paddle! I'll keep an eye out!

If you sign up for their emails, they have regular sample sales, that's where I got ours from.

haveanotherdoughnut · 06/10/2014 22:31

Yes, very happy with ours.

Bit of a ridiculous price but hopefully you will find one on offer!

LightastheBreeze · 07/10/2014 07:55

I'm also looking at these Smile John Lewis has the plain ones for about £29 also Amazon had a couple of plain ones for about that.

Thanks for the tip about Achica, paddle, will look.

I'm not desperate I have got current mats in washer at moment so I hope they survive a few more months until I can get a sale one.

Are the latex backed or multi-grip best?

Lucylambkin · 08/10/2014 08:59

Re backing it depends on the floor. Have a look at their website and it tells you about it.
