Cheap place to buy dried fruit and nuts

I am not sure if this is a "good housekeeping" thing or not but its definitely part of managing the house for me. Can anyone suggest where I can buy dried fruit, chopped nuts and seeds (e,g, apricots, cranberries, figs, sunflower seeds etc)?

We use a lot of it in my home and the local Sainsburys is quite expensive.

Is holland and barrett a lot cheaper for this sort of thing?

For nuts, I would try a large Asian supermarket.

Lidl

Home Bargains/Wilkies type places usually have a few types of dried bits in bags at good prices Smile

I bought a 1kg bag of mixed nuts for £12 from Holland 7 Barrett. I think that's a better deal than most places. I'm trying to find somewhere to buy in bulk as nuts freeze really well.

Tesco do a brand called Aasani in the Indian section with huge bags if cheap almonds. We buy these as we go through lots. Indian sections usually good for cashews too.

A middle eastern supermarket would be a good bet. I miss our old London one dreadfully :(

I also buy loads in Poundland

Lidl. Sometimes Holland and Barret are better price when they have the penny sale.

have you looked on Amazon? I have recently purchased raisins on there and got a good deal.

Aldi are great for seeds and packs of cranberries. Think they do good mixed but bags too.

I've sometimes been disappointed by the quality of nuts from H&B - the large bags from the Indian section in the supermarket are always excellent IME. H&B good for seeds though esp if penny sale on as someone else said.

Lidl quality brilliant compared with the rancid nuts at H and B. I find the quality of a lot of H and B stuff questionable tbh.
