I have a stainless steel splash back on my cooker and hood - it gets covered in splashes of grease which I find really hard to remove - any ideas on how to clean them??

A strong grease shifting cleaner will work. Once you've shifted it put a coating of WD40 on it to prevent it happening again. A tip from the team that installed my kitchen!

Assuming it is brushed stainless, only ever rub back and forth along the direction of the brushing, never in circles as the scratches will always show. If it is very dirty you can use one of those washing up sponges with the white nylon scourer, and WUL. White scourers are softer than green.

there is something called bar keepers friend which is excellent but a bit of a faff. jif works well too:) just rinse well and rub with the grain :)

Baby oil, use sparingly though as it collects the dust if you use too much!
