currently doing tesco and every week theres a new prob ie late delivery, missing items, poor dates but no subs and 1hr slots and vouchers

thinking of trying ocado as morrisons dont deliver to me yet and heard sainsburys is bad online. just dont know if more expensive and how much are deliveries?

We tried nearly all of them when we lived in a 4th floor flat and dragging shopping and a toddler up the stairs was impossible. Ocado were pretty much always fab, don't think I can even remember a time I got a substitution. Tesco however truly shit. Never on time, nearly once a month they'd just not turn up without any notification and rude drivers.

evertonmint · 26/09/2014 16:02

Waitrose are great - polite staff, on time, minimal substitutions that are usually fairly sensible and free delivery. More expensive than the others (although they do price match branded to Tesco now) but worth it for the general lack of aggravation.

BornToFolk · 26/09/2014 16:22

Try them all at least once - you'll probably get new customer deals and then once you've used them, you'll get emailed vouchers to entice you back. Grin
I mainly use Tesco. They're mostly fine, especially now that they do the £1 midweek delivery charge. They are sometimes late, and I've had them not turn up a couple of times but they are generally reliable.

I've looked at Waitrose but find it much more expensive. I've used Asda a few times but I find the website hard to use and they have more substitutions than Tesco, IME.

GangAftAgley · 26/09/2014 17:18

We went with Asda for ages but found that the website was really irritating when used with a tablet. I know you said Morrisons don't deliver to you yet Op, but we've found them to be brilliant. Hardly any subs, one hour time slots, they'll recycle your bags next time, and they seem to be trying really hard to catch up with other retailers as they haven't offered online shopping for so long. Just a thought for when it is an option at yours!

WanderingTrolley1 · 26/09/2014 17:20

Ocado.

missmajestic · 26/09/2014 17:22

I've just started using Morrisons online and very impressed. Never had a sub, one hour slots and often early (with a phone call to check it's OK). They're expanding their delivery range so may be coming to you? Also used Sainsburys and never had a problem.

daisydee43 · 26/09/2014 17:35

thanks cant wait for morrisons delivery to be available. anyone know how much ocado charge for delivery? think they seem the best so far

Sainsburys consistently excellent.

Diryan · 26/09/2014 17:53

Another vote for Sainsburys. Very rarely get subs, and when I do they're sensible with what they replace the missing items with.

Labrat72 · 26/09/2014 18:08

Ocado are very good. I pay for a smart pass, I think it's £7 a month but all deliveries are free. Other than that the deliveries range from 99p the about £4 I think, it depends what day & time you want your delivery & if you order a 'green' delivery it's cheaper because they will already be in your area delivering to someone else.
I very rarely get substitutions & when I do they're sensible (mini pitta breads subbed for full size ones fog example)
I love my ocado deliveries. The drivers are always polite and on time. I'd highly recommend them.

Tipsykisses · 26/09/2014 18:39

Another one for Ocado with a smart pass , always excellent !

Tried all the others but in our area have had nothing but problems with them .

SwiftRelease · 26/09/2014 18:44

Ocado all the way, v reliable and have all the weird & wonderful lowcarb/organic stuff we order, no subs.

daisydee43 · 27/09/2014 09:14

just had a look at ocado website. very impressive but seems just that bit more expensive than tesco for example in cooked meats for sandwiches. all branded food i get is same price but own brands seem to be 20-30p more each item which will build up i spose Sad

I was just about to start a similar thread, but my issue is that I've had it with Ocado.
Been using them for 10 years. Apart from a few hitches last summer when they moved their distribution warehouse, always been very good. Very few substitutions because the website is linked to actual stock levels.
However my last 3 deliveries have been very badly packed, with products damaged in each one. Yes, you can request a refund, but I live in a rural area so it means a long drive to replace items that have been damaged and it's just a bloody pain when I've planned menus for the week.
I'm thinking of trying Waitrose. But the problem is that they pick instore so more substitutions are likely.
I've used Tesco in the past - terrible.
I do sometimes order from Sainsburys who are quite good, but as a PP said, Ocado has some low carb/free range/organic items that I eat regularly that I can't get anywhere else.

daisydee43 · 27/09/2014 13:20

well that does it lol, theyre all just as bad Sad

Waitrose seem the best- not too many substitutions and delivery staff always nice. Last new year they gave away a free bottle of champagne or chocs too!!!
