Washable, waterproof dining chair protectors

This is exactly the sort of thing I am looking for, but it's an American product. I have found the seat covers on eBay, but they would have to be imported from the USA, so rather pricey.

I can't find anything else similar. I want to avoid sticky, sweaty plastic if I can avoid it.

My mum made me chair covers out of shower curtains, I was a bit Confused when she first said it but they're a great job. Are you any good at sewing?...

Ikea? The fabric is quite niche though www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10216877/

How about getting some flattish chair pads like this www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30175003/ , which are available more widely and in different colours, and see how you get on without the flappy bits.

Ah, sorry I thought you meant either washable or waterproof - most stuff seems to be one or the other, which I guess is what you're stuck on. Sorry, ignore my previous post.

The shower curtain idea is genius!

I went to my local fabric shop yesterday and they've got waterproof material (same as what is used for rain macs). I couldn't see the price per metre, but a shower curtain will be considerably cheaper, I'm sure.
