Herb freezer storage

I have a lot of different herbs in my freezer, but I find them really awkward to use.

In my head I'm cooking away, I need a bit of coriander, I throw open the freezer, grab a handful, and toss it in the pan.

In reality, I need a bit of coriander, I gingerly ease the freezer open catching a wayward tub of raspberries, I plunge my hands into the icy depths pulling out assorted bags and tupperwares, there it is, I struggle to wrench the lid off whilst holding several bags of frozen peas under my armpits, Ow, ow I bent my nail back, never mind I'm in, No! it's parsley, back into the ice I delve...

Is there a sensible way to store this kind of thing? I have an American style fridge freezer and I'm thinking some kind of containers in the shelfy bits in the door. I'm imagining them neatly lined up with their labels on. But what containers to use?

chop, stuff down in ice cube tray, cover in water and move herb cubes to labelled small freezer bag when frozen? I've only done this with parsley so far, but it was very satisfying!

I'm happy with the freezing part- I'm more looking for some kind of containers to put the herbs in for easy access.
