Steam generator iron is dying. Try to fix or replace? With what?

Just had an expensive month and now the bloody iron is dying. Any tips for home repair or shall I start looking at new ones? Ours is big and very noisy, we have the brown calc stuff spurting out occasionally even though we have cleaned it. It also keeps switching itself off.

Any brand recommendations for a new one? I got ours in an Argos sale but nothing on the Argos site looks good - morphy Richard brands seems to break a lot.
