thinking of getting an induction hob?

I wasn't thinking of getting an induction hob as have, for years, been very happy with gas. My husband and I are relocating our kitchen and, as a temporary measure before bringing in the gas pipe, he has set me up with a two ring Andrew James countertop induction hob. Wow. I'm just completely blown away by this. It's just fantastic. Does all you would expect from a gas hob but better. I originally wanted a gas range cooker but have changed my mind. The Andrew James is just brilliant so I srated to do some seroius research into what was available on the market and it seems that Neff comes out really well BUT none of them do what my £100 Andrew James does in that it has a heat contol, as do they all but my James also has a temperature control and a timer too. This means I can get the temperature down really low (60) and do stuff like slow cook ( great for stews and pot roasts), put the timer on and go out for the day. None, not even the £800 jobs do this. I am opting to have this as my permanent hob. I use an induction friendly pan for veg and top it with the tiers from my old steamer pot so no probs with not having enough rings (I am only cooking for two of us). We are going to order another which is slim enough to be easily stored to use alongside the other for when we are descended upon by the family hord. I can't get over this. We were gonna spend £1600 on a range cooker but bugger that now. Plans have changed, more money available to upgrade elsewhere. Could not recommend more highly.
