How can i get this floor clean and then keep it that way?

We have a wet room. The floor is a non slip lino type stuff - all bobbly.
For a variety of reasons ( depression, stress, despair) I have not been keeping up with my house work. I have been cleaning the loo and sink in there but the floor, which gets wet 5 days out of 7, has been neglected. This is because it is a bugger to clean!
So, it is discoloured and bleugh.
What can I use to get it clean? Mopping does no good, even with bleach, because of the bobbles.
I suspect I need to get down on my knees with a scrubbing brush no matter what but I need something to use with it that will make it look lovely so it feels worth the effort!
Then, once it looks lovely, I need something to maintain it.
I'm wondering about a steam cleaner but the last time I tried one it jut made everything wet.....

What about scrubbing with a cream cleaner like Cif?

No idea about maintenance, except regular cleaning. Sorry.

Vileda spray mop is excellent after getting it clean first with a cloth on your knees.

Second vote for a cream cleaner like Cif (or Jif as I still call it). I'd use a deck scrubber brush on a long pole rather than hands and knees - I'm a bit too lazy for that!

Steam cleaners are great if there's not much superficial muck on the floor to start with and are good for keeping on top of mould, but you do need to ventilate well. If there's any stains, a magic eraser can be good for removing them, but I'd try a small, unobvious bit first, to make sure it doesn't ruin the surface finish or change the colour.

I will try the cream cleaner. Thank you.
It is the bane of my life that wet room.
We went for mermaid panels for the walls and this non slip flooring. For some reason they didn't take the mermaid panels to the floor and so the flooring goes up the wall a bit. However, they put trim round the bottom of the panels which sticks out.......
Bloody thing.
The more I look at it the more I think the only way to keep it clean is hands and knees with a scrubbing brush once a week!

Try scrubbing it with a strong washing powder solution.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/09/2014 20:58

Yeah when I suggested scrubbing on your knees,I didn't for one minute suggest you actually do itGrin I'd just leave it dirty if it were meWink

I LOVE cif, it's bloody great stuff and particularly good on our glass shower screen oddly.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen

I appreciate this is an old thread Smile
Just wondering if you ever found something that worked?
I have tried Cif, soda crystals washing powder/liquid, the pink stuff paste and spray, bleach, white vinegar and probably more.
Hmm
