to be delivered tomorrow - the Maestria in cream. So excited, how on earth will i sleep tonight?

And how do i explain a new kitchen appliance appearing all of sudden on the worktop to my husband? :)

Suggestions please (or feedback on the machine!) appreciated…

I have this one and I really like it. It's just so simple to use.

One good thing is the patent (trademark?) on the design of the nespresso capsules has run out so nespresso don't have a monopoly any more. I bought some from M&S during the week. Haven't tried them yet though.

wowfudge · 04/09/2014 23:23

Ooh - Helga, that's good to know. We have a Nespresso machine at home and there's one at work.

Tiredbadger · 05/09/2014 14:43

I love my Nespresso! I got one a month back after staying in a hotel with one in the room, best purchase in ages. I have also tried the Dualit capsules from Sainsburys which are quite good but I still prefer the Nespresso ones. Enjoy it! Grin

Good to hear people loving their nespresso machines! Mine arrived today, and as beautiful as it was i sent it back. I ordered mine in cream as we have cream worktops, white wall but as our other appliances are silver/black it looked a bit out of keeping. So i have ordered the same in black. Arrives tomorrow...

I've had my magimix nespresso machine for 12 years. Best birthday present ever. Enjoy yours.

grocklebox · 05/09/2014 19:57

I got this one: lunar.thegamez.net/homeimprovements/krups-coffee-makers-reviews/krups-nespresso-essenza-titanium-coffee-maker-review-compare-prices-500x500.jpg

as a present. I never would have bought it for myself but I totally love it now.

grocklebox · 05/09/2014 20:07

The new Lidl pods are very good btw, and a fraction of the cost of the nesprsso ones. Not the same range of course, but very good for just quality coffee.

ushiemama · 05/09/2014 22:07

I've had my Nespresso machine for 6 years & I love it, if it broke tomorrow I would buy another immediately. Buy your pods online from Nespresso, 200 pods with Free Delivery. Sainsbury's sell compatible Carte Noire pods that are excellent (cheaper than Nespresso pods) I'm so happy my DH & DS are not bothered about real ground coffee, they have "instant, otherwise it would be far too expensive.

BerylStreep · 06/09/2014 07:36

I love my machine. I second the recommendation for Lidl's pods. Work out about 13p each instead of 30p for Nespresso ones.

I hadn't realised the patent had run out. I did wonder how Lidl were doing it.

blahblahblah72 · 06/09/2014 18:25

Sainsburys have an offer on at the moment for the Carte Noir compatible pods. They are reduced to £2 for 10 so are about a third cheaper than Nespresso ones. I am really fussy about my coffee but these Carte Noir ones are really good and they do them in a variety of intensities similar to Nespresso. I cleared the shelves in my local Sainsburys yesterday and went back for more this morning!

Droflove · 06/09/2014 18:48

I just ordered one too, along with a handheld Dyson animal. So excited! You one is much nicer than mine though, I got the citiz I think it was. Yours is stunning!

Chottie · 06/09/2014 18:51

That is gorgeous! OP just make DH a cup of coffee!

mnistooaddictive · 06/09/2014 18:57

I love my nespresso machine, so much so we always take it with us on holiday! It saves us money as we buy less costa.

BerylStreep · 07/09/2014 01:32

Wow MNistooaddictive (and your name is so true). I take it you are bringing the car, and not travelling with just hand luggage?

Bought some in Lidl's yesterday, £1.79 FOR 10.

BeCool · 09/09/2014 16:14

these pods contribute to landfill with every cup of coffee. Billions of these pods are sold and make their way into landfill every year.

Nespresso collect ours for recycling. They say that 100% of the product is recycled.

BeCool · 09/09/2014 17:27

That's great to hear though I don't think they publicise it very well as none of the Nespresso users I know recycle them.

I wonder if Lidl/M&S and co all recycle too? Or will Nespresso recycle all makes of pod?

BeCool · 09/09/2014 17:27

I'll be letting them all know they can recycle though!

mnistooaddictive · 09/09/2014 19:50

Nespresso collect all of ours too. They only collect their own as they are metal whereas the cheaper replacements tend to be plastic which isn't as easy to recycle.
