What I would rather do than cleaning my oven

I need to clean my oven very soon as we have a lot of guests coming over, and I REALLY don't want to, so I'm counting on you guys to distract me.

I would rather...listen to Nickelback's entire discography than clean my oven (maybe not technically true).

And you ladies?

I recently paid and got mine cleaned, it's took 1hr for 2 ovens, hob and extractor fan, cost me £50, he took the doors off and got it looking new, have never got my oven that clean before, have now put down foil to keep it clean. I think prices started at 12.99 for the oven and then £2.50 for each shelf and trays. I wouldn't bother getting the hob or extractor fan done again though. Cheap extractor filters in wilko. Are the guests going to look in your oven?

Yeah I was thinking about getting the guys at www.ovenu.co.uk to come take a look. They might not, but my in-laws are coming over too and mil just loves to check I'm keeping everything clean!

I have my oven done every six months and I love it. Tbh of all the things we have to do looking after a house I think cleaning the oven is the worst.

I bought a halogen oven, one of its best features is that the bowl goes in the dw.

That sounds really handy Fluffcloud!

I think I agree Muskey, especially as we always end up cleaning other peoples' messes! The babysitter made cookies with my eldest the other week and loads of batter dripped all over the bottom of the oven, I don't think she should have to clean it but it's still a pain that I need to haha.

Well worth paying someone to do it. You'll never get it as clean as they do and you don't need to do it often. I also git my barbecue done at the beginning if the summer after spending the winter festering (the BBQ not me!)

I pay to have mine done as well, I think of it as my 'treat' Grin and would rather have the oven cleaned than a couple of meals out.
