Energy suppliers, is this the right place to ask?

If so, what is the experience with first:utility? Have always been with one of the big 6, and Scottish Power is not a lot more so could go with that?

Current supplier (SSE) has been no hassle and not projected to be hugely hugely more so also tempted to stay owing to natural laziness and fear we will struggle to get current credit back (They reduced payments a few months back).

Also, if projected use is an underestimate (probably unless we get another mild winter), how do I check what effect that will have on savings/cost?

I am clueless in case you hadn't worked that out already, advice/experience welcome

money saving expert reports big problems with first utility.

size is not a guarantee of competence (I'm on target for a third of my bill back from npower for endless cockups), and obviously most people only post reviews when there is a problem - but this lot look awful.

My husband (who does our utilities) is obsessed with Ovo Energy. They've saved us money and if you over pay on the direct debit you can request a refund at any time. They are just a really good company!

Oh and there's an app to report your meter readings xx

I've recently switched to Octopus energy and would really recommend them - has been really smooth so far - they did handled the whole switch for me and they are very competitive in terms of price.

And I did a bit of searching and found a £50 off link which was a huge bonus so if you want to sign up then use the link below for a discount:

I swapped from EDF to Octopus energy and it's been the best thing for us - I would really recommend them, very smooth process and their customer service is brilliant, always so helpful.

I used someones link when I signed up to save £50 so if you want to sign up then feel free to use my link for a discount:
