Carpet mould.

We have a 3x1ft area of black mould in the front room carpet - resulting from temporary sink being set up over summer.

Can we treat it ourselves or do we need to get professionals in?

We have 2 very young children and quite concerned.

Thanks in advance.

I bought some of this recently and it was great www.google.co.uk/search?q=black+mould+remover+home+base&client=safari&hl=en&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&ei=4hAIVLTAGu2A7QbltoDgDQ&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=320&bih=460#spd=16341067721291012579 Got it from Homebase

I sprayed it on some curtains very generously and the mould started to go. I then soaked the blinds in bleach and hot water.

I'm not sure if it would work on carpet but maybe worth a go?

Sorry that link is a bit funny. Should be Kilrock black mould remover spray.
