  • does anyone have a recipe for this (can be made up out of your head....I am desperate) - we don't have any chocolate to melt! Thank you!

I don't think you can ... sorry

I thought you needed the consistency of melted chocolate

could you use golden syrup and just colour it brown .. might not work

I can give you an easy recipe for chocolate muffins if it helps

Melted butter, golden syrup, cocoa.

No idea of quantities. I just ad stuff 'til it looks right. Sorry.

They are stickier than normal doodlebugs (does anyone else call them that or is it just my family?!), but delicious nonetheless. I use lots of cocoa which makes them a bit more bitter - dark chocolately.

We always did them like that, much nicer (we called them chocolate crackalots.)

Oh no! Am having a bad day - just discovered no golden syrup either!

Ah! I have no alternatives. Sorry.

icing sugar and cocoa to make a thin water icing might just work.

Twiglett · 21/09/2006 16:58

9oz sr flour
3 - 5 tbsp cocoa powder
6 oz sugar
1/2 tsp bicarb of soda
1/2 tsp salt

mix in bowl (can add 3 oz choc chips too)

1 egg
9fl oz milk
1 tsp vanilla
3 fl oz veg oil

mix in bowl

mix wet into dry (don't overstir)

put in muffin cases

bake at 180 for 20 - 25 mins

voila

Ellaroo, make pancakes instead with a mix of cocoa and flour.
